Valentines Day Dinner

February 20th, 2010 by Christian · 2 Comments

As a Valentine’s Day treat for Jennifer, I cooked her up a special meal.

So after spending most of the day in the kitchen preparing this feast my 3 year old daughter looked at the table… and asked for a sandwich.

Wooden Baby Blocks

April 23rd, 2009 by Jenny · 4 Comments

Here is my latest artistic experiment for a friend’s baby shower.

This was a fun project, but of course it took much longer than I expected it would and there were a lot of tedious/repetitive steps.

  1. Finding suitable images - thank you Google images and all the wonderful coloring book pages out there.
  2. Tracing these images in the right size for my blocks
  3. Tracing over my first drawings onto the blocks using carbon paper
  4. Carefully drawing over the lines on the blocks with the wood burning tool

How do you think it turned out?

New Hair Cut

April 22nd, 2009 by Jenny · 2 Comments

I’m catching up on recent bloggable moments… it’s been a few weeks now, but I’ve got a new shorter style. Fun, but now I’ve got to maintain it. What!? I need a haircut more than once a year? :-)

We’ve Got Mail

April 22nd, 2009 by Jenny · No Comments

We’ve got mail. Big big mail. Somehow I don’t think the mailman enjoyed delivering these. It was all I could do to get them in the house and they had wheels! What’s even more amazing is that it only cost $30 to deliver one of these from Iraq to Virginia. Lilly really enjoyed these boxes because that meant uncle Curt was coming home soon! She couldn’t stop talking about that.

Pi Day

March 14th, 2009 by Jenny · No Comments

Happy Pi Day everyone! We normally like to celebrate with lots of friends, lots of pie, and recitation of pi to the farthest possible decimal point (maybe 10 for us), but it just didn’t work out this year. This pi day is special though… it’s official. Happy very first National Pi Day. (Thank you Congress.) And we promise we’ll be ready for it next year.
