I had to say goodbye to a great pair of Doc Martin shoes. I purchased these shoes in February of 1995 for a two year LDS mission to Ribeirao Preto, Brazil. There are a lot of dusty roads down there and I put these shoes through their paces (pun intended). They are the most expensive shoes I’ve ever purchased at $110.
So, I figure that I owned these shoes for ~4625 days. Over that time, I wore them on average about 3 days a week. That puts the amortized cost of these Doc Martin shoes at roughly 5.54 cents per use. That isn’t too bad. I’ve replaced these shoes with a pair of Docs that I got from a thrift store for $5 and are in great shape. I look forward to that amortized cost after another 12 and 1/2 years.

Now I know that even when Jenny is worn out…..you won’t get rid of her! You’re a good man, Christian!
