Mess Making

October 19th, 2007 by Jenny · 2 Comments

We’ve been busy here in Danceland… it’s amazing how much work it is to cut down a tree and then clean everything up. One positive thing about the whole experience is all the sudden contact with our neighbors. Everyone walking by for their evening stroll comments on our progress or commiserates. It’s been a great conversation starter. I miss the tree though. The yard doesn’t look right without it.

That is so sad. It’s amazing how much a tree comes to mean to the property, and the people. Don’t you ever drive down a familiar street and realize something is different….something is missing, and you realize a tree has been cut down? It happens to me every now and again around here. I’m glad it has started some conversations, though. Maybe you’ll have more friends among your neighbors. Did you figure out just why it fell apart in the first place? Maybe in the spring you could plant another tree. Are you considering it? When you miss it the most, just use google earth, and you can see it again…..

I think it looks great without the tree, b/c now you can see much easier how cute your house is!! :)
